Power Skating for Hockey - PrePower and Power
2024 / 2025 Season
CanPowerSkate is an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. CanPowerSkate is an excellent complement for those athletes playing on hockey or ringette teams. The focus is on building skating skills. Please note that during the first session Professional Coaches may request/suggest a program change for Skill Development.

PrePower skate
Prerequisites
This program is for skaters who wish to build on strengthening their hockey power-skating abilities. Skaters entering the program should be able to skate forwards, walk backwards or have completed CanSkate Stage 5/6. Recommended for ages 5-8.
What's included
Focus is on correcting and enhancing skating posture, form and technique, both forward and backward, with the addition of speed and power. More advanced skating skills are taught, including pivot turns and cross-overs.

*Admin/Skate Canada Fee includes a small administration fee and the compulsory Skate Canada fee for skaters registering in Skate Canada sanctioned clubs. What's included
Power and speed-focused drills program in a fast-paced environment. Emphasis is placed on skill development, crossovers, speed and agility with continual emphasis on the use of edges. Further skill advancement is taught (i.e. reverse pivot turns etc.) in this program. This program uses the full ice for greater speed and distance than our PrePower program.Day |
